Hereâs a comprehensive overview of the Startup Wise Guys scouting and selection process. Itâs designed to ensure that we select startups with strong growth potential, well-aligned with our program goals.
Startup Wise Guys scouting process consists of 5 stages, going through all steps can take up to 4 weeks. At the end of the selection process Startup Wise Guys will choose TOP 8-14 startups to join the program. âď¸ STAGE 0 | Pre-selection
- Initial application review: During this stage, our team screens all applications to determine if they meet our investment criteria and align with the thematic focus of the program.
- Additional questions: If the application aligns with our initial criteria, we may reach out with further questions to gain deeper insights into your product, market, team composition, and traction. This step helps us better understand if your startup is a good fit for the program and prepares us to make informed decisions in the following stages.
đť STAGE 1 | Product Demo (PD) call
- Product Demo: Startups that progress to this stage will be invited to a Product Demo call. During this call, youâll have 5 minutes to pitch your product and showcase its features, followed by 5 minutes for Q&A with the Startup Wise Guys scouting team and the Managing Director of the program. This is a crucial opportunity to convey the unique value of your product and highlight its potential impact.
âď¸ STAGE 2 | Due diligence
- Tech call: In this stage, youâll meet with one of our technical experts to dive into the specifics of your technology, product architecture, and development process. The focus here is to evaluate the scalability and technical robustness of your solution.
- Managing Director (MD): Youâll have a call with the programâs Managing Director to discuss your companyâs business model, financials, etc. The MD will also evaluate the startupâs fit for the program.
- (Optional) Expert call: In some cases, an industry expert may join the due diligence process to offer additional insight into your market and productâs fit within the industry.
âď¸ STAGE 3 | Interviews with General Partners (Deep Dive Calls)
- Deep Dive calls: Youâll participate in up to 6 one-on-one calls with our General Partners. Each call is 30 minutes, where youâll spend 10 minutes on your pitch and demo, followed by 20 minutes for Q&A. These calls are an opportunity for our partners to evaluate your startupâs vision, growth potential, and market opportunity.
