However, it is mostly monitored manually with observational forms and test kits which is limited, expensive, and can be misleading. As a result, people wash their hands half of the times they are supposed to in hospitals, and only a third in the food industry. Lack of hand hygiene is the most preventable cause (by up to 50%) of hospital infections and food-borne illnesses which amount to more than 200K people losing their lives and more than $15B of direct losses annually in the US & EU alone.
YIKA ****is an AI-powered platform which includes smart badges and sensors, computer-vision based camera modules and a web application. YIKA is able to seamlessly track and report hand hygiene compliance and help facilities maximize compliance which saves funds and human lives.

Founded in Dec 2020 and had its first paid customer in late 2021, we closed 2022 with $94K in revenue. We were able to onboard three of the largest healthcare groups in Turkey (one paid, two pilot) and completed our first global sale in the UAE during the course of the program.

We provide our services to hospitals, F&B, and manufacturing facilities. Our customers include both governmental and some of the most premium & quality-accredited hospitals in Turkey, the UAE’s Ministry of Health, a Burger King franchise, and one of the largest retail companies in Turkey which all have the potential to expand our services internally.
We are operating in 13 facilities and monitoring more than 500 people’s hand hygiene activities.
